Landscape Oil Painting

Paint on location at the Alaska Botanical Garden! Learn the basics of how to set up a palette, choose a composition, and use oil paints to create a landscape painting. Gain inspiration from the boreal forest and enjoy the company of others as you take in the scenery. This one-hour workshop takes place outdoors, so please dress for the weather.

Material kits are available for purchase or you can bring your own supplies.

Material Kits Include:
- Oil Paints: Ultramarine Blue, Cobalt Blue, Sap Green, Raw Umber, Titanium White, Alizarin Crimson, Cadmium Yellow
- Solvent: Gamsol (4-8 oz.)
- Brushes: Hogs Hair Round size 1, Bright 1, Filbert 4, Bright 4
- Palette: Glass or Metal *not paper (Tape glass to a painted white Masonite Board for easy and safe transport)
- Grounds: 2-3 Small Primed Masonite panels, or canvases 8''-9''
- Solvent Jars: Medium sized jar for solvent
- Palette knife: 3” Trowel Style
- Rags: 2-3
- Board: Plywood Clipboard
- Bag: Canvas Tote
