Sound is an important and valuable part of everyday life. We take in sound 24 hours a day, even while we sleep. Some sounds soothe us and some put us on edge. And when sound becomes noise, it may negatively affect our mental and physical health. With sound consciousness, we can become more aware of the sounds we take in and make choices to lessen the negative effects and evoke the positive. Katherine Haghighi, will discuss how sound awareness is important for the health of our bodies and our minds. Following Katherine's presentation, Stacey Shriner, ABG Educator, will provide a horticultural therapy activity as we experience the many sounds the garden has to offer.
