Come meet Girdie! Girdie the Clever Crow became a Bird Treatment and Learning Center Ambassador Bird in 2013. A wing injury prevents her from being able to fly, so she could not be released to the wild.
Crows, like all members of the corvid family, are brilliant birds, and Girdie likes to demonstrate that. She pops out of her kennel to greet her audience, entertains them with her learned and natural behaviors, and creates her own paintings when she feels inspired.
Presentation is included with price of admission.
Bird Treatment and Learning Center cares and advocates for Alaska's wild birds through rehabilitation, education, and outreach. An average of 550 birds are seen at the clinic annually. Ten Ambassador Birds are part of the Bird TLC education program, helping to inspire others to care about wild birds.
