Tai Chi at the Garden
Saturdays: July 5th, 12th, 19th, and 26th
10:30 - 11:30amJoin Tai Chi instructor, Richie Goldstein, for an hour-long Tai Chi class every Saturday this July in the Garden! Every other week you'll practice the Yang Style 24-movement Tai Chi and Tai Chi Sun style.

Perennials with Acrylic
Saturday, July 12th | 10:30am - 12:00pm
Learn how to paint perennials using Golden Fluid Acrylic paints on paper. Practice color mixing and matching, composition, value, and layering. Join other budding artists and painting enthusiasts to spend time in nature capturing the light and color of the Garden in full bloom.

Vinyasa Flow Yoga
Sundays: July 13th, 20th, and 27th
2:00 - 3:00pmThis 60-minute yoga class forms a flowing sequence in coordination with the breath. This class includes asana (postures), breath work, and brief meditation after savasana to balance out our practice.

Garden Gnome
Friday, July 25th | 6:00 - 7:00pm
Come and paint a locally made 3-D printed Garden Gnome! We will discuss color blending, how to create different shades, and texture techniques as we bring these characters to life with many vibrant colors to choose from.

Foraging Etiquette and Unspoken Rules of Wild Plant Collection
Wednesday, July 30th | 6:00 - 7:30pm
Alaska Botanical Garden employee Katie Redmond will talk about some of the basics in foraging etiquette, covering some of the who, what, where, when, why, and how for identifying, and respectfully collecting some commonly foraged plants in the Anchorage area. Recipes and tools included!

The Garden is here to help you with all your field trip needs, whether you need us to come to you, or you wish to get away from the classroom and come to us! Repurpose Nursery Pots
We accept used pots in the following sizes:
Round: 1 gal. and 2 gal.
Square: 5.5”, 4”, and 3.5” (deep + regular)Clean pots in good condition can be dropped off with staff during open hours.
Pots left at ABG without staff awareness will be taken to the landfill.

Nationally Accredited Meconopsis Collection
Commonly referred to as Himalayan poppies, the genus Meconopsis is composed of fuzzy, flowering plants native to the Tibetan Plateau.
