Ice Sculpture Competition Registration
Register to participate by December 19th!
Novice and expert carvers are welcome, as well as teams! Register for the Large Block (350lb) or Small Block (10lb) category.
The competition will take place December 27th - January 4th. Public voting will occur two nights: Saturday, January 3rd and Sunday January 4th

Beginner Night Photography
Saturday, December 6th | 5:00 - 7:00pm
See the garden in a whole new way—after dark! Join Raina Wessen for a relaxed, hands-on workshop focused on night photography. You’ll learn how to use long exposures, adjust your camera’s manual settings, and make the most of the soft, subtle light that appears after sunset.

Cultivating Mushrooms Workshop

Learn to grow your own mushrooms! Join the owners of Far North Fungi, Allison and Gabe, for a hands-on workshop on growing oyster mushrooms.They’ll bring a mobile lab where you can create your own mushroom kit to take home.

Introduction to Scratchboard and Drawing Fundamentals
Monday, December 8th & 15th | 7:00 - 9:00pm
Join local artist, Nathan Perry, for a fun two-day workshop creating your own scratchboard art piece. Students will learn line techniques, development of drawing skills, composition, and creativity.

Needle Felted Northern Lights
Wednesday, December 10th | 5:30 - 8:00pm
Capture the glow and movement of Alaska’s Northern Lights in a one-of-a-kind wool painting! In this hands-on needle felting workshop, you’ll explore the art of “painting with wool” as you blend colorful fibers to create your own aurora-inspired landscape.

Gingerbread Winter Village
Saturday, December 13th | 1:00-2:30pm
Create a winter themed village of gingerbread houses with paint pens and recyclable cardboard. Practice drawing and cutting out trees, light posts, moose, windows, roof lines, and doors to create a charming holiday scene for your mantel, window, tabletop or staircase.

Festive Felted Ornaments
Saturday, November 29th | 10:00am - 12:30pm
WORKSHOP FULL
Learn the foundational techniques of needle felting while creating your own unique holiday character!This class is beginner-friendly—no prior experience needed! All supplies are included, and you’ll go home with a completed felted piece and the skills to keep felting on your own. This workshop is appropriate for ages 8 & older.

Nationally Accredited Meconopsis Collection
Commonly referred to as Himalayan poppies, the genus Meconopsis is composed of fuzzy, flowering plants native to the Tibetan Plateau.
