7th Annual Harvest Day

September 12, 2015

11 am – 4 pm

$7 per person or  $5 per person with a donation of 3 cans of food per person

Members and children under 5 are Free

Enjoy a fall harvest festival and farmers market with food harvested from our Heritage Garden Celebrating the Anchorage Centennial , chef demonstrations, live music and family fun! Donated food goes to Bean’s Cafe and the Food Bank of Alaska.

Below are some of the food and garden demonstrations that will be happening throughout the day!

Mary Kate garlic all day
Leslie Shallcross fermenting with vegetables: (demo at 12 and 2pm)
Anchorage Weavers and Spinners Guild weaving demo (1pm arrival) 1:00-4:00pm
Michelle Wilber building a fall sheet mulch bed and putting the garden to sleep (3:00-4:00pm)
Herb Society (Cathy Sage) tastings of mint, sage, sicho, savory, hand out seed packets of angelica and caraway (all day)
Cooperative Extension haida potatoes, hmong mustard, 30 varieties of cilantro tasting, hybridized turnips (5 tastings)- selling strawberries also! (all day)
SABA beekeeping and local honey all day
APU Kitchen beets ??
Campobello Bistro squash and candy pecan salad and  maple bacon dressing  (11am-1:00pm)
Northstar Behavioral Health cooking, prep and storage techniques to protect micro nutrients in your foods (all day)
