Botanical Field Journal Studies with Andie Thrams
The field journal is an ideal tool for recording what is seen and felt as summer fades, and autumn arrives. Each workshop will focus on different watercolor techniques to effectively chronicle your Garden experience.

Saturday August 18th: Garden Color Studies with Watercolor
We’ll record careful observations of garden flora colors within the pages of our field journals. Step-by-step exercises will build a reference source for color mixing and painting strategies for future inspiration. No previous art experience is required.

Sunday August 19th: Botanical Studies with Watercolor
Building on Saturday’s color studies, students will learn effective steps to reveal botanical form and detail using watercolor, gouache, and colored pencil. All will leave inspired to continue exploration in the journal or in
other forms. Saturday’s color studies class or previous color mixing experience is helpful, but not required.
