Grafted watermelon production in Southcentral Alaska – Join Rob Brown, with Flattop Farm for a workshop discussing why grafted watermelon plants could be the solution to getting consistent watermelon production for growers and home gardeners. Participants will have the opportunity to practice grafting watermelons using a technique that can also be used on cucumbers, canteloupe/muskmelon, pumpkins, squash, and other cucurbits. Rob will be discussing the research project taking place at Alaska Botanical Garden and on his farm that also involves using alternative methods of pollination.
