    The Garden is here to help you with all your field trip needs, whether you need us to come to you, or you wish to get away from the classroom and come to us! Programs offered year-round, Monday - Friday.

  • Vinyasa Flow Yoga

    Sunday, September 22nd | 2:00 - 3:00pm

    This 60-minute yoga class forms a flowing sequence in coordination with the breath. This class includes asana (postures), breath work, and brief meditation after savasana to balance out our practice. All classes will take place in our heated Greenhouse.

    2-day workshop:

    Explore the art of wet and needle felting in this fun two-day workshop. During Saturday’s session, we will use luxurious merino wool to create your own autumn inspired wet felted scene and then enhance your design with needle felting embellishments during Sunday’s session.

    The season for bread baking is upon us! Join Megan Walker of First Colony Farms for a three-part series that will cover everything you need to know about getting started with sourdough. Take all three classes for a comprehensive beginners' guide or choose the sessions that interest you the most.

  • National Fossil Day

    Friday, October 18th | 12:00 - 3:00pm

    National Fossil Day is an annual celebration held to highlight the scientific and educational value of paleontology and the importance of preserving fossils for future generations. Join paleontologists, educators, and students in fossil-related events and activities in the Garden. Included with the price of admission.

    Shop hardy perennials, annuals, native plants, and divisions from plants grown at the Garden!

    You can purchase plants in person during the Garden’s business hours now through September 15th!

  • Repurpose Nursery Pots

    We accept used pots in the following sizes:

    — 2 gallon
    — 1 gallon
    — 5.5 inch
    — 4 inch
    — 3.5 inch (deep + regular)

    Clean pots in good condition can be dropped off with admissions staff during open hours only.
    Pots left at ABG without staff awareness will be taken to the landfill.

  • ABG Donor Wall


    The Alaska Botanical Garden only grows with the sun, the soil, and the ongoing support of our generous community. Consider a lasting gift by purchasing a leaf from the ABG donor wall sculpture.     Commonly referred to as Himalayan poppies, the genus Meconopsis is composed of fuzzy, flowering plants native to the Tibetan Plateau.
